A WOMAN was 'lucky' to walk away from her car after it left the motorway and rolled down the embankment.
Firefighters from Maidenhead were called to the M4, between Junction 8/9 for Maidenhead and 10 for Reading, Wokingham and Bracknell, at around 8.45pm yesterday (Friday).
A VW Polo had left the motorway and rolled down the embankment three or four times before landing back on its wheels.
Watch manager Yemi Cullimore said the woman driver, who was around 35 years old, was 'very lucky' to walk away from the car uninjured.
Police, an ambulance and the Highways Agency were also at the scene.
Watch Manager Cullimore said firefighters helped stabilise the woman for observation and she was taken to hospital as a precaution.
They made the car safe before leaving at around 10pm.
