A FAMILY photography company is seeking a charismatic canine to become the face of the firm.

Venture Photography, which has a studio in High Street, Eton, has launched a nationwide search for the most attractive dogs.

Each of Venture's 32 studios across the country will crown a winner, with Eton's most desirable dog being rewarded with a 'pawtrait' in a handmade frame, worth £350.

The overall winner, chosen from the 32 studio champions, will receive an array of doggy treats, including a year's supply of dog food from Pedigree and a VIP tour of Battersea Dogs And Cats Home.

The rehoming centre, which has a base in Priest Hill, Old Windsor, will receive a £1 donation from every competition entry.

The prize-winning pet will also feature in portraits at Venture studios in the UK, USA and Hong Kong.

Jonny Foster, Venture Eton's studio manager, said: "Around a third of all of our photoshoots involve pets, as both we and our clients very much view them as an important part of the family.

"We're looking for a dog with lots of character to crown as our Prize Pooch and we look forward to having a lot of fun throughout our search."

A public vote will decide which of the 32 studio winners advance to the competition's final, where they will be judged by a panel including Venture's creative director Richard Mayfield and representatives from Battersea Dogs And Cats Home.

The competition opens on Friday. To book a family photoshoot at Venture Eton with your pet and enter the competition, visit www.venturephotography.co.uk/eton or call 01753 670161.
