THE Bracknell Forest Council website has been granted a four-star ranking for its level of service.
An annual survey of all 433 local authority websites unveiled www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk as one of only 37 councils to receive the top four star rating.
The Society of Information Technology Management (SOCITM) and its 'Better Connected' survey also ranked the council's website as being in the top 20 best-developed sites in the country.
It also revealed that the website has the highest level of take up by local residents in the country - over 45 per cent.
Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, corporate services and public protection, said: "We have invested a lot of hard work in developing our website so it's easy for residents to use and it looks good.
"We are delighted that the SOCITM survey has recognised this by awarding us the top ranking in its annual survey."

Report commentOh dear. I dread to think what the other sites must be like! Never been able to find my way around it. Finding one simple thing seems to take forever and it's easier to phone the council and ask than waste time searching. Sorry BFC, I speak as I find – or not, whatever the case may be!!
