POOLS at Coral Reef will be shut for a week longer than predicted as final checks take place.
The Nine Mile Ride children's attraction - which has been closed for annual maintenance since Saturday, December 8 - was originally meant to reopen on Thursday, December 27, but unexpected roof repairs mean the date has been continually changed.
Council bosses announced last month that it would reopen on Saturday, March 23, however confirmed today (Tuesday) a revised opening date of Good Friday, March 29.
The News exclusively revealed on February 21 that the closure of the pools and slides has cost the council in the region of £440,000 in lost revenue. Repair work has cost £90,000.
Sauna World at Coral Reef has been unaffected by the work.

Report commentJust a thought but do they have any insurance cover? Surely this would cover them for such eventualities.
