Cllr John Southgate, vice chairman of Winnersh Parish Council, and the Wokingham borough councillor for the area, Rachelle Shephard-Dubey, officially opened Pets At Home, in Gazelle Close, on Friday, February 23.

They were given a tour of the new facilities which include an adoption centre where pets are cared for until a new home can be found.

Store manager David Pickett said: "Friday's grand opening went very well, it was a pleasure having Cllr Southgate and Cllr Shephard-Dubey - a keen dog owner herself - with us to celebrate.

"We've had a very positive start and local pet owners have been very complimentary about our new store."
