BRACKNELL bus users will pay less to travel across town.

As of last Saturday, FirstGroup has reduced the cost of travel on its buses for adults and children so that anyone buying a single ticket - £2.10 per adult, £1.05 per child - on routes 155, 171, 172 and 194 can get the return journey free. This means passengers will get a saving of £1.30 per adult and 65p per child.

The price of a Bracknell area one FirstWeek ticket has also been reduced by nearly 25% to £10 for an adult, £6.60 for a child. These tickets are available from the driver and provide unlimited travel on certain routes, operating from Bracknell bus station.

These are (from Bracknell bus station): 155 (to Harmans Water), 171 (Crown Wood) and 172 (Easthampstead), 190 (John Nike Leisure Centre), 191 (Brookside) and 194 (Pinewood Cross Roads).

"There's never been a better time to leave the car at home and try the bus," said Matthew Wooll, revenue and marketing manager for FirstGroup in Berkshire.

"We all need to do our bit to reduce congestion and using the bus is also better for the environment."

He added: "Travelling by bus is also a good opportunity to catch up on text messages, Tweets or just to relax for a few minutes and maybe read a book or magazine."
