ROADWORKS on the A404(M) will begin this evening with overnight closures in place.
Work is being done to repair the joints on the bridge which carries the A404(M) over Cannon Lane, Maidenhead near Junction 9b with road closures in place from 10pm-6am.
The northbound carriageway will be closed this evening and on Tuesday, February 12, Wednesday, February 13, Thursday, February 14 and Friday, February 15.
The southbound carriageway will be closed on Tuesday, February 5, Wednesday, February 6, Thursday, February 7, Friday, February 8 and Monday, February 11.
One lane of the northbound carriageway will also be closed on Monday, February 11.
Steve Cobb, Highways Agency structures manager said: "The existing joints have come to the end of their life and we need to replace them to prolong the life of the structure and keep journeys on the A404(M) safe and reliable. By replacing them now we are reducing the risk of emergency closures at a later stage.
"We have planned the work to take place overnight, when traffic flows are lowest, to minimise disruption to road users. The work is weather dependent; if you are planning on using the A404(M) I would recommend planning your journey in advance and allowing some extra time."
A diversion route will be in place during the carriageway closures using the A308(M), A308 and A4.
