"Chewbacca" gets waxed for charity

A BRAVE 24-year-old has had his body waxed in a bid to raise cash for charity.
Tom Cadle, fondly referred to by friends as Chewbacca from Star Wars, embraced the Karate Kid 'wax on, wax off' ethos as beauticians at the Relaxation Centre, in Yorktown Road, spent three hours purging him of any hair last Thursday. [13]
He said: "Every since I've had the wonderful delight of hitting puberty I've had lots of suggestions from people saying I should get waxed - so of all the ways to raise money it had to be that!"
The College Town resident admitted he felt "anxious" before the waxing began and said: "My friends found it hilarious and my mum thinks I'm barmy. I said I wouldn't do it for less than £500 though, and I've done that."
His waxathon raked in more than £900 for two charities: Together For Short Lives, a charity helping youngsters with life-threatening illnesses, and Breast Cancer Campaign.
