Woman's bid to set up society

A WOMAN who suffers from osteoporosis hopes to set up a support group for other people with the condition in Wokingham and Bracknell.
Julie Trim, 73, from Rose Street, Wokingham, was diagnosed with the condition - a disease of thee bones that leads to an increased risk of fracture - two years ago after breaking her wrist.
She said: "I kept coming across people who have osteoporosis and I thought it would be nice to try and get people together.
"They call it the invisible illness because you can't believe you have it but it does change your life.
"I have had to give up golf because of my back and if I went to pick a ball up I would crack a rib."
She added: "The Osteoporosis Society does a great job and has a fantastic helpline but the area they cover in the south stretches all the way through Hampshire and to the Isle of Wight.
"I'd like to set up something much more local for the people of Wokingham and Bracknell."
Mrs Trim said, depending on the amount of interest she received, the group could meet at her house or at a coffee shop.
She said: "I think it would be very nice for people to get together and talk and if there were enough people we could maybe go up to Cantley Lodge for tea.
"It would be open to anyone who suffers from the disease and I hope to hear from people."
