Man banged up for breaking baby's legs
TWO people have been sentenced at Reading Crown Court today after a seven-month-old baby girl suffered multiple leg fractures in March 2011.
A 28-year-old Bracknell man was jailed for two years after being found guilty of causing GBH and child neglect. A 22-year-old woman, of the same home, was found guilty of child neglect and also given a 12-month community order.
The pair cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Detective Constable Andy Ward led the "complex" investigation with help from the CPS, social care and evidence from a variety of witnesses.
He said he "welcomed" the sentencing and added: "It is very sad that a baby should be hurt by the people who should have been caring for her, but thankfully she is expected to make a full recovery from the injuries she suffered."
