'We knew Savile was an abuser'
BROADMOOR Hospital staff were too afraid to speak out against Sir Jimmy Savile despite "knowing" he was a paedophile - according to a former staff nurse.
Richard Harrison said he kept his two young daughters - now in their 20s - away from the "suspicious" TV star and would not allow them to sit on the presenter's knee when he dressed as Santa Claus at staff Christmas parties.
Mr Harrison, 64, who lives on the Broadmoor estate and worked at the hospital for 30 years after joining in 1974, told The News: "He was a Pied Piper of children, all the right-thinking people knew he was a paedophile, he behaved like one, he looked like one."
Police are investigating more than 100 allegations of sexual abuse by the celebrity, including ones from former Broadmoor patients who claimed he assaulted them on the site.

If enough people who knew it was going on and reported him - action would have to be taken.
I am fed up of people saying they knew it was going on and did nothing.............. they are as guilty as Jimmy Saville , as they did not stop it................... and allowed vunerable people to be continued to be abused.
Why do they want to admit to thier knowledge - guilt that they did nothing...........

Can see what you're saying, & I originally felt the same, to a certain extent I still do, but just like the people that actually went through the abuse, & there are over 100 that didn't speak up? If they didn't feel they would be believed, how would others feel when they definitely didn't have 'proof'? These staff members likely didn't correspond their thoughts about it to each other at the time. So as far as they knew they possibly were the only ones thinking it? I don't know...
