PLANS for the £50m redevelopment of the infamous former 3M building have gone on show. The proposals for a 19 storey building housing 311 flats, a cafe, retail space and gym can be viewed on Bracknell Forest Council's website.
There will also be cycle and disabled parking, landscaping and open space at the site in Bond Way, Brackenll town centre, following the demolition of the existing tower.
Developer Comer Homes has submitted the plans designed by architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill - which designed the Infinity Tower in Dubai.

Report commentBracknell is a Home Counties Town, not an intercity Sprawl; we need developments which reflect this. We are not trying to become a City centre. We are a small vibrant country town with a history going back to Roman times so please keep any developments in proportion to a country town. We also need to keep our identity as a town so please keep country side between us and our neighbouring towns and villages when planning the future of Bracknell.

Report commentCompetely out of character to the rest of Bracknell or do they intend to flatten the rest and rebuild it in the same style..................................................
In which case we have a decent road network included in the plans as I am fed up of sitting on Foresters Way A3095 every morning trying to get to the M4 from Owlsmoor.
