Youngsters fit and ready for the stage
BUDDING young actors learned the secret to a sporting performance at a fitness workshop.
FASBAT, which runs performing arts classes in Sunninghill, invited aerobics instructor Wendy Marshall to teach youngsters the importance of staying fit and healthy in order to give the best performances on stage.
More than 20 children aged between eight and 13 took part in the workshop on Wednesday last week which covered aerobic exercises, stretches and conditioning.
Lee Cooper, principal of FASBAT, which stands for Find A Space and Be A Tree, said: "They loved the physical exercise and responded really well. It wasn't about losing weight but about feeling good and getting happy endorphins going. After the exercise they were all puffing and smiling.
"It's about feeling the best you can feel so that you are able to give your best performance."
Mrs Marshall, who runs fitness company Wendy's Workout, also covered healthy eating in the workshop held at Cordes Hall in Sunninghill.
Mrs Cooper explained to the children that if they go on to perform in a show they will need to have a good level of stamina and fitness, especially if they are doing a lot of shows in a row.
