Byron Walton has no doubts that his strikers will soon start finding the net.

BYRON Walton insists his goal-shy strikers will soon start finding the back of the net and help fire his side up the table.

The Bracknell Town boss has seen his men play at the top of their game in recent weeks but they have still only won twice in their last eight games in all competitions.

They have won only once in the league since September 13 and only bottom club Winchester City have scored fewer goals.

But Walton is still confident the likes of Errol Telemaque, Nathan Jack, Chris Geary and Ian Harvey have the quality to get the goals the Robins need.

He said: "I'm not worried about it, I'd be more worried if we weren't creating the chances.

"But we are creating the chances and our strikers are proven goalscorers. I'm convinced things will just click soon and when they do I wouldn't be surprised to see us winning a game about 4-0.

"We've just been a bit unlucky so far this season in front of goal but those sorts of things even themselves out so I'm not worried."

Despite this Walton has moved to strengthen his striking department in the past seven days with the capture of Maidenhead United frontman Gavin James.

The 19-year-old was signed last Thursday and went straight into the side to face Slough two days later.

James, a former Wycombe Wanderers trainee, has just completed a one month loan deal at Ryman Premier Division side Wealdstone where he scored three goals in four league appearances.

Walton said: "Drax (Maidenhead boss Johnson Hippolyte]) rang me up and said there was a chance he would be going out on loan again so I took the chance and I think he will do us a lot of good.

"He will give me another option. He did very well at Wealdstone and I'm sure he will do very well for us as well."

Another new recruit at Larges Lane is 21-year-old centre back Zak Gill who has arrived from Burnham. Walton has snapped him up on a permanent deal as cover for Neil Baker who will miss the rest of the season through injury.

The Robins boss said: "He's 6ft 4ins and he can play in a number of positions. He was at Arsenal for three years when he was young and has a lot of quality. He's big, physical and fits in with what we want at this club."

Bracknell travel to North Leigh this Saturday and Walton admits his side need to start picking up points so they can move away from the bottom reaches of the league.

He said: "The division is very tight, a couple of wins in a row and you're up into the top half of the table. I think we're good enough to be up there but we have to start picking up points.

"We should have beaten Slough last weekend. When you have a number of one-on-ones you should take at least one of them but we didn't. It was frustrating, but we played well.

"Saturday will be a tough game. I know North Leigh well as I came up against them twice last season while I was at Flackwell Heath.

"They are a good team who have a lot of confidence at the moment after getting promotion last season.

"We will need to be at our best but I'm confident we can get a result."
