Emma Keeler was presented with a certificate of appreciation at a school governors’ conference last week for her work with College Town Junior School, which her two children attend.

She is currently vice-chair of the governing body and chair of the curriculum, standards and pupil welfare committee at the Sandhurst school. She was recognised for her contribution with the award presented by Bracknell Forest councillor Gareth Barnard.

Ms Keeler works full time as a learning resource manager at LVS Ascot and said: “As a librarian I have a particular interest in literacy, and the skills I use at work have definitely made me a better governor.

“My experience working at LVS Ascot gives me a clear understanding of the issues involved and allows me to more effectively assist College Town Junior School.” Christine Cunniffe, head of the senior school at LVS Ascot, said: “Emma is a vital part of our team. Her knowledge and skills are an asset in helping develop our students here at LVS Ascot, and with this, alongside her incredible work ethic, it is no surprise that she has been able to make a real difference in College Town too.

“We are delighted that this has been recognised and congratulate Emma on her very well deserved award.”
