Calling all experienced anglers for a charity fishing event

Published: 26 Jun 2014 17:300 comments

A FISHING event aiming to raise money for a Sandhurst-based charity will take place next month.

Ray Edwards is a quadruple amputee and founder of Limbcare

The carp match will be held between Friday, July 4, and Sunday, July 6, and is fundraising for Limbcare, which was set up by Sandhurst resident Ray Edwards – a quadruple amputee who lives in Abingdon Road.

The charity helps people who have had to have any of their limbs amputated to lead as full a life as possible.

It also provides assistance to their families.

The carp match will take place at Sandhurst Lake, in Yateley, and the draw takes place on the Friday.

Fishing begins at 12.30pm and continues until 9am on the Sunday, with the presentation taking place at 10am.

Sandhurst Lake has some very large carp so is only really suitable for experienced carp anglers.

There will be food available each day for a small additional charge.

There will also be a sweepstake during the event and an annual trophy that will be competed for each year.

The cost of the event is £100 with all funds going to Limbcare.

Competitors will be allowed only two rods, no zigs more than 18 inches and no pellet.

To take part in the event, call Paul on 07771 109670 or Len on 07944 808039 or email len@limbcare.org
