Tony King gave a talk to the group entitled Those We Have Loved, about former stars of television, film and radio.
Dave King, 73, was among the guests and enjoyed the day.
He said: “It was entertaining and brought back a lot of memories to some of the older members.
“He was talking about Gone With The Wind and those sort of films from the 1940s.”
The event took place at St Michael’s Pastoral Centre, in Lower Church Road, Sandhurst, on Thursday.
It was organised by Mr King’s wife Liz and she believes it was a successful day.
She said: “He is a professional speaker and they all liked him.
“He started talking about Vera Lynn and We’ll Meet Again and that started everyone singing.”
She added the group does a lot of good work for people who have suffered from medical conditions.
She said: “I think it’s good because they’ve all got some difficulty whether it’s that they’ve had a stroke or they’ve lost a leg so they are meeting people in a similar situation. Anyone is welcome – carers, husbands and wives.”
The group meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month.
Mrs King added transport could be arranged to and from meetings as volunteers run a rota giving lifts to people.
The next meeting is a New Year’s lunch at the Heron on the Lake, in Fleet, on Thursday, January 16.
