A BALACLAVA-clad man sexually assaulted a woman outside a supermarket yesterday (Wednesday).
Police are appealing for witnesses to the event, which took place just after 6pm in the Marks and Spencer car park, in Marshall Road, Sandhurst.
The victim, who is currently being interviewed by police, was approached by the man before he threatened and sexually assaulted her.
The offender - thought to be in his thirties - then ran away across the car park.
He is described as being of mixed race and was wearing a balaclava and a dark jacket.
Det Ch Insp Rebecca Mears said the victim was very shaken by the incident.
She added: "It took place at a time when there would have been many people around in the area. We would like to hear from anyone who saw someone matching the offender's description or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
"I also want to take this opportunity to assure people that offences like this are extremely rare and officers are in the area today offering advice and reassurance."
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt John Slater on 101 or, to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
