Hens' new home
FORMER battery hens found new homes at a charity's rehoming day.
Crowds flocked to meet the hens on Sunday, May 27 at Wellington College in Crowthorne and British Hen Welfare Trust volunteer, Julie Durham, from Ascot, was able to rehome all the 176 hens.
The British Hen Welfare Trust is a national charity that re-homes commercial laying hens and encourages support for the British egg industry.
Its ultimate aim is for consumers and food manufacturers to buy only UK produced free-range eggs.
