A CRICKET team has gone to the dogs in search of a new mascot.
Sandhurst Cricket Club's 2nd XI captain, Simon Coxwell, has turned to puppy power to give his team extra incentive to become the best team in Berkshire this year.
Mr Coxwell's pet dog, George, has gained a custom-made official Sandhurst Cricket Club sweater which he wears with pride around the ground as the official 2nd XI mascot. A spokesman for the club said: "George has been a regular sight at the club, but will certainly feel part of the team with his cosy new costume and can take his rightful place as official 2nd XI mascot!"
Having been demoted from Division Three of the Berkshire Cricket League the team will now compete in the 10-team Division Four and any player not pulling their weight faces the prospect of George barking out orders from the boundary.
