A COUPLE who met through their fathers' military careers will celebrate 60 years of marriage tomorrow (Thursday).

Ann and Ken Jordan, who have lived in the same house in College Town, Sandhurst, for the last 54 years, met at a dance while working at the tank factory in Longcross.

Their paths had crossed before as both of their fathers had been members of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) so the couple had similar upbringings.

Ann said: "Ken's mother knew me as a baby, but we grew up and moved around, but we ended up back in Longcross where we met properly."

The couple married at All Saints Church, Wokingham on June 7, 1958, and went on to have four children - Brian, twins Shirley and Susan, and Diane; three grandchildren - Michael, Jelly and Emma; and four great-grandchildren - James, Tigan, Amelia and Elliot.

Ken said: "My advice is to always be faithful, and learn to forgive. We have argued over the years, but it is important to admit when you are wrong."

Ann said: "It is important to have separate interests, Ken loves his bowling and I've always been a member of the W.I, it gives you something to talk about."
