AN INSTRUCTOR at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting an officer cadet.
As reported in The Mail on Sunday, Staff Sergeant Michael Wright is now the subject of a criminal investigation after an alleged incident involving a male cadet.
Police confirmed the arrest of the 37-year-old after the alleged sexual assault in Guildford, Surrey, on March 1.
The alleged victim made a complaint to police shortly after the incident and SSgt Wright was then arrested.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: “Following an allegation of a sexual assault in Guildford on Thursday, March 1, a person from Berkshire was arrested.
“They have been released from police custody on conditional bail.”
The case is being investigated by civilian police instead of the military police because the alleged incident took place after hours and off army property.
