Housebuilders have given a big boost to local disabled children with a generous donation.

McCarthy and Stone, the developers behind Birch Place Retirement Living Plus in Crowthorne, have donated £250 to the Me 2 Club.

The Me 2 Club is a charity which helps children and young people between the age of five and 19 with additional needs and disabilities, helping them to participate and enjoy mainstream activities.

Me 2 Club helps children attend groups such as brownies and scouts with the help of a trained volunteer.

Liz McDaniel, Fundraising Development Officer, at Me 2 Club, said: "We are delighted to receive this donation and gesture of support from McCarthy and Stone.

"We are an independent charity and donations of this kind are extremely important to us. The funds will go towards recruiting and training more volunteers to give children the one-to-one support they need to attend mainstream activities."

Julie Ward, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone South East, said: “When we were looking for a charity in Crowthorne to support, Me 2 Club stood out for the positive role it plays in the lives of many families across the region.

"It is an absolute pleasure to present this donation to the charity, and we wish them every success with their ongoing contribution to the community.”
