STRIKE action planned at Fujitsu was cancelled at the last minute after union officials and bosses held 'constructive' talks.
Unite withdrew the plan to strike from today (Thursday) while the company agreed to extend the period in which Unite could call a strike. The agreement was reached only yesterday and no members of staff who did not hear about the cancellation in time, will be penalised for not turning up.
The company has agreed to continue consultation over pensions until at least January 31 and no-one selected to be made compulsorily redundant will have their employment terminated before then.
Further talks are planned aimed at an agreement before Christmas.
