As part of ongoing maintenance to South East Water's mains network pipes around Bracknell are being 'flushed' throughout the week.
Harmless mineral deposits, including iron and manganese, are washed out the network by high pressure water. Unfortunately this can turn the water brown.
The high pressure water is forced through the length of the mains to scour the inside of the pipes. The water is then funnelled off into the drains.
The cleaning can leave residents with low water pressure and dirty coloured water whilst it is carried out. If this happens South East advise to leave a tap running until the water is clear.
Flushing is due to last till Friday May 1.
