With less than a week to go before the deadline for nominations close, the News is calling on readers to vote for those people who really make a difference.

It is not just kind-hearted people that you can vote for though, the awards also has prizes for the best company in the town and best business champion. Parents and residents can also nominate their favourite school or teacher that has really enhanced the lives of young people in Bracknell.

Other awards up for grabs include nominating charities in the area that carry out inspirational work and really make a difference to people in the community. The people that volunteer for these charities and other good causes can also be nominated in the 'Volunteer of the Year’ category.

Steve Grant, editor of the News, said: “The deadline is looming for our readers to submit their nominations for this year’s Pride of Bracknell Awards. This is your chance to really shout about those who are deserving of an award and should be recognised for the different they make to our community.

“We are not just after people though. We are looking for the best businesses, teachers, schools and charities in our area and ones that you feel should be honoured at this prestigious ceremony. However, the clock is ticking and we are urging you to get your nominations in before the deadline.” More than 40 nominations have been submitted for this year’s event - organised by the Bracknell News, Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) and a host of other sponsors.

There are only six days left to submit your nominations, with the deadline on Monday [23].

Judges will then shortlist nominations for the awards, and the successful nominees will be invited to attend the presentation evening on Friday, April 17, with a guess.

There are 10 categories in total, which can be viewed by visiting the online nomination form at www.bracknellnews.co.uk/bracknellpride Alternatively, readers can fill out the paper nomination form and pop it in the post.
