We are inviting you to put forward worthy candidates for a range of categories – including education, business, sport and voluntary – who will be feted at a gala dinner later this year.

The annual event is organised by the News, Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP), again the lead sponsor, and other partners.

Helen Barnett, head of communications and marketing at BRP, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Pride of Bracknell Awards in what is now its 10th year. The awards are a fantastic celebration of everything that our town represents, and it’s a great opportunity to recognise individuals in our community.

“Every year we hear of new and inspiring stories and I’m sure this year won’t be any different. Often, local heroes can go unrecognised, so these awards are a great opportunity for people to put forward someone they know who deserves this recognition.” Nine-year-old Evie Shallom was runner-up last year in the Child of Courage category for her bravery with her ongoing battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Her dad, Aron Shallom, said: “The awards meant an enormous amount to Evie and she enjoyed the experience thoroughly and in meeting other nominees. Through it, sponsors Sebastian’s Action Trust have helped and continue to help us as a family.

“We as parents love the smile it put on both Evie and her sister Ruby’s faces as it was a very special night. She always looks back on the photos and loved the glamorous event. She was very proud and loved it all.” The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 23.

Judges will then shortlist nominations for the awards, and the successful nominees will receive an invitation for themselves and a guest to attend the presentation evening on Friday, April 17.

Readers can either nominate their heroes by posting the paper nomination form or by going online at www.bracknellnews.co.uk/bracknellpride
