Mr Emmett, who replaces Bob Pennell, was voted into the role at the annual general meeting at Cooper’s Hill Centre, Bracknell.
At the meeting, held last month, Tracey Hedgecox, the charity’s chief officer, reported a very successful year, with an increase in volunteering by individuals and companies.
She said Age Concern Bracknell Forest’s Day centre, based in Forest Park, has reached capacity and added: “The centre has benefited from all the activities now run in the community.” She said day trips are returning by popular demand.
