The tree has been positioned on top of Charles Square's clock fountain but it is unsure how long it will remain there for.

A statement from the BBC has confirmed that the Christmas tree is up due to filming scheduled for the BBC2 series The Wrong Mans.

The series is a comedy drama starring James Corden of Gavin & Stacey fame.
