Traffic jams as roadworks start on The Ring

THERE were traffic jams in Bracknell town centre today (Monday) as roadworks got under way on The Ring. The road is now shut north of the junction with High Street towards Easthampstead House.

The work is part of the redevelopment of the town centre, with utilities being installed for the new development of shops, restaurants and multiplex cinema that will be built.

The closure of The Ring between High Street and Easthampstead House will be permanent as that section of the road will become pedestrianised.

With Bond Way at its junction with The Ring now shut-off, access to Waitrose is now only via the Western Roundabout.

Access to Easthampstead House is now via the Weather Way side of The Ring, with that section now two-way for traffic.
