The road will be shut beyond its junction with High Street West, between there and Easthampstead House car park. The work will allow new utilities to be put in place ahead of the redevelopment of the town centre.

The section of Bond Way off The Ring is now shut, with the only road access to Waitrose now via Western Roundabout into Bond Way.

Drivers are able to exit the town centre via

High Street West, in front of the new Blue Smoke-house Grill (formerly the Red Lion) because the one-way system there has now been reversed.

Access to Easthampstead House car park is via the other side of The Ring, from Weather Way, because the road there is now two-way.

The changes are permanent as the closed section of The Ring will become pedestrianised.
