Police are appealing for witnesses after they attempted to stop a silver Renault Clio at 2.06pm on Tuesday May 20.
They believe the car had been involved in the theft of fuel from a garage in Wokingham earlier in the day, and it was spotted by officers at the Running Horse roundabout in Bracknell.
Officers in a marked vehicle attempted to stop the car, but it drove off and was pursued towards Harmanswater, then into Lybury, where it went off road down a footpath. It then continued on towards Oareborough where it was found abandoned just off Priory Walk.
PC Marcus Burrows, from Lodden Valley police station, said: “We are looking for anybody who witnessed the pursuit to come forward so we can speak to them about the incident. We are also hoping to hear from anybody who saw the car being abandoned and may know the identity of the driver.” Please contact PC Burrows from Lodden Valley police station via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
