YOUNGSTERS who love all types of games from the traditional like Monopoly to new generation including Settlers of Catan, Ticket-to-Ride or Citadels can join a new club dedicated to young gamers.
The Bracknell Young Gamers' (BYG) Club opened its doors to all games enthusiasts aged between 12 and 15 earlier this month and is encouraging more young people to join in the fun.
The club has been set up by Warfield resident and youth service volunteer Jean Remillard, supported by Cllr Gareth Barnard, executive member for children, young people and learning, and Bracknell Forest Council's youth service.
Mr Remillard said: “I am a big fan of board games, as there is always one to fit anyone’s preference and personality. With our library of more than 50 games, I am confident that we’ll never run out of fun at the BYG club”.
The club will run every Friday at NRG at Cooper's Hill from 6.30pm to 9.30 pm, anyone aged 12 to 15 can join and it costs just £2 per session, which helps to pay for new games.
Cllr Gareth Barnard, executive member for children, young people and learning, added: "We are delighted to support Mr Remillard and his initiative. There is a need for a wide range of clubs for young people in the borough and this club will appeal to secondary school aged youngsters who enjoy playing games, which is something we have never run before. There are still some spaces available at the club, so if you fancy joining in please do get in touch.”
