A-level results - reaction across Bracknell, Wokingham and Ascot

STAFF and students are celebrating following a busy morning of exam results.

Kara Hook, of Bracknell & Wokingham College, got two Bs and C and will be going to Cardiff.

Edgbarrow School in Crowthorne says it has got its best-ever A-level results.

The percentage of exam papers passed at A*-C was 91% - up from 84% last year. One of the 135 students, Louisa Britton, got a fantastic three A*s and an A grade and is now off to Oxford University to study Chemistry.

Charters School in Sunningdale, where 191 students received their results, a record seven youngsters qualified for places at Oxford or Cambridge universities.

Co-headteacher Richard Pilgrim said, "Students in the sixth form can today be very proud of their achievements. They have prepared themselves well and are now reaping the rewards.

"Congratulations to all the students and staff for another excellent year."

Four students at Ranelagh in Bracknell are off to Oxford or Cambridge, including Hannah Scott (2A*s and A), off to St Catherine's, Oxford, to study music.
