A WOMAN'S car has been written off after its engine caught fire on the outskirts of Bracknell.
Firefighters from Bracknell station rushed to Peacock Lane, near Easthampstead Park Conference Centre, at 5.05pm today (Sunday) to extinguish the flames - which destroyed the entire front suspension of the Vauxhall Astra estate.
The crew used one hose reel and a firefighter in breathing apparatus to put out the blaze and closed the road to traffic for about half an hour.
The driver - a woman thought to be in her early 30s - was unharmed.
It is believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the engine.
