For a picture-packed special, pick up the Bracknell News - out now. ENTHUSIASTIC Easter egg-hunters searched high and low for chocolate treats during the weekend.

Families flocked to a range of hunts held across Bracknell, Finchampstead and Crowthorne.

Three generations of one family visited a Finchampstead park as parents James and Karen Evans, from Arborfield, took their two children hunting. Thomas, four, and Charlotte, three, were joined by grandparents John and Wendy at California Country Park, in Nine Mile Ride, on Sunday morning.

Karen said: "It's nice to get out and it's a lovely day. The last time we came the lake was frozen. It's a bit warmer but still a little cold.

Charlotte added: "I'm enjoying the hunt and I'd be very happy if I get a chocolate egg." Children at the event scoured the area to find eggs which had raffle tickets in - with some resulting in chocolate eggs and some winning lollipops.

Mike and Aimee Walker, from Bulbrook, took their sons Jack, 11, and Ashton, four, to the park with gran Mel Howey.

Mike said: "We were lucky because we saw some eggs straight away and they won a chocolate egg." Josie Hagan, who was working in the cafe and helped hide the eggs in the morning, said it was a busy day. She said: "We've had about 250 people which is more than we thought we'd get but it's been very successful and a great family day." People also hunted for eggs in Bracknell Market, at St John's Church, in Waterloo Road, Crowthorne, and at Cranbourne Primary School in Winkfield.

An Easter Farm allowed children to get up close with animals at The Willows and Maples Children's Centre, in Priestwood Court Road, on Thursday.

More than 85 people visited the show before it moved on to Princess Square, Bracknell, on Friday and Saturday.

Kids also flocked to a Bracknell Forest Council-organised treasure hunt at South Hill Park on Tuesday, while Binfield pre-school held an Easter bonnet making session and parade last Wednesday.
