BOROUGH food outlets are to have their hygiene standards checked by a new national scheme.
As of Friday, March 15, restaurants, takeaways and pubs throughout Bracknell Forest are now assessed by the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) - an FSA initiative which will help residents choose where to eat out or shop for food.
It is hoped that the new scheme will build on the previous 'Scores On The Doors' programme.
Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for public protection, said: "The authority's Scores on the Doors scheme has been highly successful and by joining the national scheme and using their rating system I'm happy to say that we are already able to show our residents are well-served by quality businesses.
"90% of our food establishments are rated three stars and above."
