BRACKNELL'S council leader has clinched an award that recognises his work as a long-serving councillor.
Cllr Paul Bettison was among 63 outstanding councillors throughout the country selected to proceed to the final of the 2013 Cllr Achievement Awards, held last night (Monday).
He came out on top in the Judges' Special Award category, competing against councillors from Staffordshire, Essex, Plymouth and Dagenham.
The ceremony is in its fourth year and is the only national award ceremony which celebrates councillors who go above and beyond their duty, making positive changes to their community.
