TWO bottle-wielding attackers left a 14-year-old boy in hospital following an assault.

The lad was walking from the Co-op in Bywood, Hanworth in the direction of Great Hollands when he was assaulted by two men carrying broken bottles at about 5.45pm on Friday (February 1).

The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Heatherwood Minor Injuries Unit. Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the incident.

The first offender is dark skinned, 5ft 10in of muscular build, aged between 18 and 20 years and was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with his hood up and dark chino style trousers.

The second offender is a white man, 6ft of muscular build, he is aged between 18 and 20 years and was wearing a purple hooded top with the hood up and blue tracksuit bottoms. Investigating Officer, PC Christopher Holland, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may know the offenders. The victim has been left very shaken by this assault which is not believed to be targetted."
