Eight people arrested in drink-driving campaign
A CHRISTMAS drink-driving initiative saw Bracknell and Wokingham boast the lowest number arrests in the Thames Valley.
Overall, 278 motorists were arrested across Berkshire, Buckingham and Oxfordshire for breaking the legal alcohol limit in the space of a month - 21 less than the same period last year.
The campaign - between December 1, 2012 and January, 1, 2013 - saw eight people arrested in Bracknell Forest and seven in Wokingham.
This is significantly less than neighbouring towns such as Reading, which had the highest number (36) in the county, and Slough, wherein 26 people were arrested.
The highest in the Thames Valley was Milton Keynes, with 38 arrests.
