A SPONSORED walk and family fun day will raise money for a group that supports people with Alzheimer's disease and their loved ones.

BBC Radio Berkshire presenter Rory McAllister will open the event on Sunday, September 9, and all proceeds will go to Ascot Area Alzheimer's Support Group, also known as Triple A.

The event starting at Ascot Heath Junior School in Rhododendron Walk, Ascot, will open for registration at 1.30pm before the walk starts at 2pm. People can sign up for a sponsored walk, hop, skip, jump or to be pushed in a wheelchair, for 1.5 miles or less for those with mobility problems.

Fancy dress is encouraged and there will be a tombola, raffle, face painting, fun stalls and refreshments.

Also, the group is keen to recruit volunteers to marshal, run stalls and organise the car park.

For a sponsorship form, call 01344 421292 or email 7heathmoors@talktalk.net
