A GROUP for young riders is holding its first Open Junior Horse Show on Sunday, July 1.
The Garth Hunt Pony Club, part of the national Pony Club charity, is putting on the event from 9am-5pm for all riders aged 15 or under and their ponies at Rose Cottage Stud in Binfield Road, Binfield.
There will be a range of jumps from the smallest up to 2ft 6ins courses, plus gymkhana races, fancy dress and prizes for the handsomest pony and prettiest mare.
Winners will go home with prizes, sweets, rosettes or trophies, plus there will be consolation sweets for younger competitors who miss out on winning.
For spectators, there will be ringside seating, refreshments, cakes, stalls and a raffle.
The show is run by volunteers. Show schedules and entry forms can be downloaded from http://branches.pcuk.org/garth/under "show". Alternatively call Sharon Day on 07793976488.
