A POST mortem is expected to be carried out today (Monday) on a woman who was found in an underpass yesterday. (Sunday) Police are urgently appealing for witnesses after the 43-year-old was discovered at 8am in an underpass near Bay Road, Bullbrook and police are still at the scene.

A man has been arrested and remains in custody.

Detective chief inspector Steve Tolmie, leading the case, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was near the underpass from around 10pm on the Saturday night through till the early hours.

"We are trying to establish the exact circumstances of her death so we would ask anyone who was in the area to contact us as a matter of urgency.

"Perhaps you walked through the underpass that evening and didn't see anything? We would still like to hear from you as it would help us build a clearer picture of events.

"We understand the victim lived locally. However, a formal identification is yet to take place which may take some time as we believe that the victim's family live abroad."

Anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information about the incident should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
