A COUNCIL'S decision-making executive has been reshuffled - with one councillor being moved out and another appointed.

Bracknell Forest Council's leader Cllr Paul Bettison has merged the children and young people remit with the education brief - the latter of which was held by Cllr Alan Kendall, who has been removed from the eight-strong Conservative-run executive after four years.

Mr Kendall, Conservative councillor for Winkfield and Cranbourne, confirmed he was "informed" of the decision to deprive him of his executive post, and had not stepped down voluntarily.

Mr Bettison said it had been "difficult" making the decision and thanked Mr Kendall for his work, saying: "Alan's commitment to ensuring a sound education for our children and young people shone brightly during a period of major challenge and change for our schools and education services."

Cllr Dr Gareth Barnard will now be responsible for learning in addition to his previous executive remit for children and young people.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, who has not been on the executive before, has been appointed to a new economic development and regeneration role.
