WITH the confirmation that Bracknell and Ascot will be welcoming the Olympic Flame, we are asking you how you think we should be marking the occasion.

There is less than a year to go until the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games from July 27 to August 12, and then August 29 to September 9.

Should Bracknell Forest celebrate with a schools sports event, big screens showing the games, have a countdown or something else?

Gordon Cunningham, headteacher at Easthampstead Park School in Great Hollands, a specialist sports school, said: "The Olympics is less than a year away and there are a few things going on locally but not an enormous amount.

"We are still waiting for a lead from someone." Mr Cunningham added: "I think it would be great to have some sort of countdown for the Olympics. When it comes to the actual event, maybe there should be an opportunity to get people together to enjoy themselves, big screens would be quite nice for that.

"This is going to be upon us soon and the Olympics will not be with us again for a long time." It was announced today (Monday) that the Olympic Flame will pass through Bracknell and Ascot on Tuesday, July 10.
