Lane closures still in place

DRIVERS who use Bagshot Road are being advised to seek alternative route this evening as the lane closures continue.
The closures are in place along the A322 between the Coral Reef roundabout and Swinley Road.
The Bagshot Road was closed for resurfacing work on Sunday and contractors had not finished clearing up by the time this morning's rush hour had started.
Vicki Judd, spokesperson for Bracknell Forest Council said: "Our engineers are working hard to re-open all lanes as soon as possible, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
She couldn't confirm whether the lanes will be open for tomorrow morning's rush hour.

Report commentI drove along the A322 at around 3.30 this afternoon. There were no workmen to be seen. How can the spoeswoman from Bracknell Forest Borough Council say that "they are working hard"? This is disgusting and proves that the council cannot plan anything. Incompetent.

Report commentI agree with you. Someone needs to be held accountable. It took me 1 hr to cover the distance between the Sainsbury Traffic light and the Coral Reef roundabout (a distance no more than few hundred yeards). Had i actually been crawling it would have been much faster!!!!
On the way back around 6.30, the road towards the M3 had both lanes open (with a 30 mph limit) but the road into Bracknell was backed up all the way back to M3 (and allthough not as bad it still took 25 mins on what normally takes 5-7 mins.
Will anyone be held accountable - I very much doubt it.
Not sure about the work overunning as it only seemed to be half done and couldn't actually see anyone working to complete it

Report commentWhat I suggest is everyone logs there delays due to these bungled roadworks and sends a bill to Ringway and Bracknell Forest Council that way there get it right next time.
