A NINE-year-old boy from Warfield will be trekking 13miles next month in aid of the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Pacey George has made the decision to walk the half marathon distance as part of a pair of fundraising activities for the charity.

In addition of walking 13 miles on June 17, Pacey will also be taking part in the 33-mile Three Counties Cycle Ride on June 3.

Proud mum Vicki George said: "Last year we went on holiday to York and we did so much walking that Pacey clocked up between 22,000 and 24,000 steps a day.

"He set himself a challenge to walk 30,000 steps in a single day this year, I told him 13 miles would probably do it, and he wanted to raise money for charity at the same time.

"Thames Valley Air Ambulance is an amazing charity, I sit on their board so Pacey hears about their work all the time.

"We have been training a lot, both walking and cycling, to make sure we can go the distance on the day."

Pacey set himself a fundraising target of £250, but has already exceeded this.

Vicki said: "I'm so proud of him, he has done this all by himself and we have been blown away by the support he has received."
