THE MAYOR has returned to action following a month of illness.
Bracknell Forest Council mayor Tina McKenzie-Boyle was struck down with the flu in December, which quickly turned into pneumonia, leaving her bedridden throughout most of the festive period.
Cllr McKenzie-Boyle posted on Facebook to confirm she was back into her mayoral commitments, starting with the Bracknell Forest Society AGM on January 13.
She wrote: “Following three weeks of flu followed by pneumonia, the mayor is now back in harness, revived and raring to go. She wishes everyone in the borough a happy and peaceful new year, and the continued avoidance of flu.
“She will be seen out and about in the borough over the next few months doing her very best to meet the amazing people of this borough and to join in the many exciting and brilliant activities that take place in Bracknell Forest, the borough of opportunity.
“If you wish to support the Mayor, remember that she is supporting The Fire Fighters’ Charity this year and any contributions will be gratefully received.”
