THE NEXT performance to be put on at South Hill Park has been announced.
Romeo and Juliet will feature at the Bracknell showcase from Tuesday February 6 to Saturday February 10.
The famous tale of love between members of rivalling families will be interpreted by the same team that brought Macbeth to South Hill Park.
Jack Fairey, who performed in Peter Pan and Macbeth, while Laura Hannawin, who portrayed Lady Macbeth, will be Juliet.
Ms Hannawin said: “Juliet is an amazing role to play and I am so excited! She is witty and intelligent but also completely follows her heart. I am most excited to explore the love that she and Romeo share.
“It’s one of the aspects of the story that people strive to achieve in their own lives, finding their ‘soul-mate’, and I wish to do it justice.”
Mr Fairey: “Right from the start, we know they’re never going to make it, because the whole world is against them. And yet, they try anyway.
“They love despite the odds, despite the danger it puts them in, and as readers and watchers we respond to that. It’s something everyone wants, I think: to be loved even when loving is hard.”
Tickets can be purchased at www.southhillpark.org.uk/events/romeo-and-juliet/ or at the South Hill Park box office.
