A GROUP of apprentices from Bracknell and Wokingham College delivered a Christmas surprise to children at John Radcliffe Hospital last week.
Over the course of 2017 former students of the college have joined Lloyd’s Register, a tech firm, as apprentices.
Part of the scheme has included team work and fundraising through fancy-dress events, cake sales and, more recently, collecting toy donations for children at John Radcliffe Hospital.
During the event the apprentices were able to give out the donated toys to children on the ward.
Mia Willoughby, business administration apprentice at Lloyd’s Register, said: “Visiting the hospital was such a rewarding experience as we could see what our efforts over the past year were going towards, and it has motivated us to work harder with the aim of raising even more money.
“It was fabulous to see how the hard work of all the LR Apprentices had paid off and how excited the children were to receive the gifts.” Lloyds Register has fully supported their apprentices and recognise how apprentices can shape the future of their workforce.”
The apprentices have so far raised £1085 plus all the toys donations and hope to continue. the work by raising more money during the New Year.
